What’s a wiki, you may ask, and why are you using one? The answer is simple. Understanding an area as fast moving as technology transfer involves immersing oneself in a swarm of terms, ideas, history, legal structures, and even, oh my, politics. As the BayhDole at 25 White Paper shows, the history of government encouragement of the development and commercialization of technology stretches back to the Morrill Act and to constitutional protections for intellectual property. But in the world of technology transfer, nothing remains settled for long. New ideas, terms et cetera rise up every day. The wiki is a flexible system of collaborating and capturing knowledge that helps us keep track of what’s going on.
